The Moscow Mule is a punchy and sharp vodka and ginger beer mix. The history of the Moscow Mule is contested, some say it was developed from a need to clear out unwanted ingredients whilst others say it was invented during a drinking session between three well known alcohol industry presidents.
Whatever story is correct the cocktail was invented around the 1940s – it quickly became very popular in the United States. The Moscow Mule has, in part, helped to keep vodka popular and is still made using the same simple ingredients.
